The isolation, interruption of activities, and remote schooling across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic have increased mental health issues for youth and adolescents. Though there is no nationwide data on suicide for 2020 yet, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that hospital emergency departments saw a rise in the share of total visits for kids with mental health needs between April and October of 2020.

The rise in mental health needs for youth coincides with a slow reduction of the stigma surrounding mental health issues, allowing more people to be honest about their needs and get the help they need. Still, kids are spending more and more of their time online, providing more opportunities for the harassment, bullying, and abuse that go along with it, further exacerbating these issues.

D CEO Healthcare is proud to host a thought leadership panel on how COVID-19 has impacted pediatric mental health featuring local experts from different healthcare industry segments. We will get to hear from practitioners and healthcare business leaders about their experience with pediatric mental health during the pandemic, what the data say, what the end of the pandemic may bring, and what patients, providers, families, and employers can do to address the issue. Join us on April 30 at 8 a.m. for networking and a panel discussion.

Tickets are $20. Get them here.
