Medical City Fort Worth has earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for spine surgery again. The seal represents quality and commitment to quality care, and involved a review by the Joint Commission to analyze compliance standards.

Match Day at UT Southwestern Medical Center was virtual again this year on March 19, and 207 medical students found out where they would be headed for residency via email. The school also held a virtual group celebration with family and friends, and sent students to Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins, and Vanderbilt University.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth participated in Match Day for the first time, with three matched to the hospital for next year. They will join four upper-level residents to start training in the five-year general surgery residency, the hospital’s first graduate medical education program, which will eventually have 15 residents.

Metrocare has opened a new mental health clinic in Grand Prairie for children and adults. Located at 1020 South Carrier Parkway, the facility will be able to apply trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health care for up to 130 individuals per day, 25 percent more than the current Grand Prairie capacity.

Caris Life Sciences has added Sutter Health’s Cancer Center at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) and Istituto Nazionale Tumori IRCCS “Fondazione G. Pascale” (Pascale Foundation) to the company’s Precision Oncology Alliance, which collaborate to advance cancer profiling.
