Mark Cuban has launched a generic drug company and is building an $11 million building in Deep Ellum. Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug will have a 22,000 sqaure-foot facility completed in 2022, and will make low cost generic drugs. Read more with the Dallas Morning News.
Allied Bioscience relocated its Dallas-Fort Worth headquarters within Plano to provide for the growing company. The move doubles the square footage from the previous office space, and the company has plans to move its research and development labs to a larger space as well. The company has experienced growth during the pandemic because of its work creating products that fight infectious diseases.
The Texas Department of State Health Services has designated Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas as a Level IV maternal care facility, the highest possible designation. The qualification means the hospital has programs focused on health pregnancies, non-invasive therapies to avoid unnecessary C-sections, surgical treatments for complex obstetrical, and more.
Metrocare was awarded a $3,999,992 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for the expansion of Metrocare as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). The two-year grant will expand care coordination and fund a 24/7 Crisis Continuum that will provide a crisis hotline, mobile crisis response unit, and more.
Medical City Children’s Hospital distributed $28,000 to area schools as part of the kids teaching kids 21-Day Challenge. About 20,000 elementary students participated in the snack challenge, which encourages kids to make and eat healthy snacks at home for three weeks. Results show that 63 percent of students that completed the challenge tried a new fruit or vegetable.
