Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 426 new cases and two deaths on Monday, the lowest number this month. He said there was some concern that the low numbers were due to a reporting glitch, but said he was optimistic that wearing masks is having an impact.


The federal government has chosen Texas A&M as a location to manufacture a potential coronavirus vaccine, reserving the schools Center for Innovation in Advanced Development and Manufacturing through the end of next year. The federal order includes $265 in renovations and updates that will help combat COVID-19 and future pandemics, The Dallas Morning News reports.

The State of Texas has switched to using death certificate data to calculate COVID-19 deaths rather than data from local local health departments, which the state said was too slow. The state has reported 5,713 COVID-19 deaths via the death certificates, which must be filed 10 days after the person dies. WFAA has more.
