She brings more than two decades of experience in finance.

Emily Buxton Taylor has been named the new chief financial officer of Naturally Slim, a digital weight management company. She brings over 20 years of experience in finance, with a focus on healthcare and technology.

Taylor previously served as chief financial officer of Paradigm Tax, a property tax consulting firm with an emphasis on using technology to increase customer satisfaction. She has also held financial positions at other companies, including serving as chief financial officer at National HME, chief accounting officer at Northstar Anesthesia, and chief financial officer at Orthofix Medical, Inc.

“Emily is the first female CFO I have worked with and she is absolutely the best. Her perspective and experience are invaluable and strengthen our Naturally Slim team tremendously. We are proud to stand behind gender parity in digital health and believe it is essential to our business prosperity and growth,” said Rob Butler, CEO of Naturally Slim, via release.

A study by S&P Global Market Intelligence found that men outnumber women in the CFO position by around 6.5 to 1, in spite of the fact that female CFOs were found to increase profits by six percent more than their male counterparts in their first year. Furthermore, women have also been found to be more willing than male peers to use digital healthcare when making decisions regarding healthcare.

“While the digital health and financial industries have historically been viewed as male dominant, I have found my unique point-of-view and talents as a female in this industry have allowed me to flourish. As a result, Naturally Slim was the ideal company for me. I’m excited to be a part of the team and I look forward to contributing to its overall success,” said Taylor via release.
