The mastermind behind the online drug bacchanal Silk Road has been found guilty, according to virtually every news organization that cares.

Ross Ulbricht was convicted on seven counts, ranging from narcotics and money laundering conspiracy charges to a “kingpin” charge. He’s now facing a minimum of 30 years in jail, and a maximum of life behind bars. A jury took less than 3.5 hours to convict, which was likely made easier by this fact:

“When the FBI arrested Ulbricht in the science fiction section of a San Francisco public library in October of 2013, his fingers were literally on the keyboard of his laptop, logged into the Silk Road’s “mastermind” account.”

Some of you may remember Ross as a UT-Dallas alum. For those of you who do remember him from UTD, did he go by Rusty? I don’t know, if my name was Ross I think I would go by Rusty. Maybe it’s just me.

If you’ve been paying super close attention to this case, you’ll also remember that UTD has scrubbed every mention of Ulbricht from its website.

Me? I can’t stop staring at that courtroom illustration, because it’s an uncanny depiction of what a courtroom sketch of me would look like.
