Our woman in Miami this week passes along photos (including this one of a Mount Rushmore of football sculpted out of sand) from last night’s Super Bowl XLIV media party, which by some accounts failed to impress. It was on a beach. There was a mechanical bull, and some sort of bean bag toss. What was not to like?
The North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee really wants next year’s game to be the first of many NFL championships played here. How well the game itself is pulled off is just one part of the equation. The hosts have got to make sure the team owners and NFL brass have their needs met. And they’ve got to ensure that the media–which will be distributing stories about our region all across the world–have a good time as well.
Much of the media contingent will be staying at the Sheraton. Need we be concerned?
