Four Corners Brewing Co. Made a Taco Map and You Should Use It

The Dallas brewery encourages #SocialTacoing to support local taqueros and local taco joints.

Four Corners Brewing Company of course knows good beer, but the brewery was also known to host a taco soiree or two. Last week, I spoke to José R. Ralat, the taco editor for Texas Monthly and author of American Tacos, about moving his book tour online. In our talk he mentioned something else that was canceled: his official book launch party, slated for May 2 at Four Corners. “That one hurt the most,” he said. “I threw taco parties at their old place in Trinity Groves. And [for May] we were planning a great time with taqueros in and not in the book,” Ralat said. Another taco fest foiled.

But that hasn’t stopped the Cedar brewery from supporting local taqueros. This week they launched a game to encourage folks to eat tacos and coined my new favorite phrase, “social tacoing.”

Per the Four Corners website: “We are partnering with local taqueros to highlight where all the bomb tacos are at and make it easier for you to find tacos near you. It’s time for taco-lovers to unite and support our local taco joints!” That’s a clear call to taco action if I’ve ever heard one.

If you tag #socialtacoing in any of your taco adventures, you may be one in five folks to win some Four Corners swag. Good luck, but mainly, happy taco trails.

As a tangentially related side note, I don’t know if I’ll ever stop getting a kick out of every single Instagram comment or tweet from disappointed El Chingon fans that the beer cans no longer sport the 360-degree top. Four Corners has been explaining that the manufacturer discontinued that can’s top style for around a month. I, too, am bummed. It was a unique way to crack open a beer. But if you follow Four Corners on social media, you’ve seen how truly just devastated everyone is—and how frequently they’re letting the brewery know. (Has anyone started a drinking game for it yet? Every time you see a comment, you have to buy a FC six-pack.)
