Hudson House is opening in the old IHOP space at Mockingbird Ln. and Abrams Rd. This is excellent news for people who enjoy east coast oysters and popcorn chicken. This is not-so-excellent news if you’re eating a diet exclusively of International Pancake Combos. But honestly, if that’s the case, you could probably stand to branch out. Spread those palate wings and soar into the great culinary unknown. (OK, “palate wings” sounds kind of gross. But you get the point.)

The third Hudson House location will open in January. According to the release:

Vandelay Hospitality is expanding its buzzy, East coast-inspired Hudson House Restaurant & Raw Bar into the Lakewood neighborhood of East Dallas. The brand’s third outpost will open at Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road, housed in the iconic former IHOP Restaurant space. Opened in Highland Park in 2017, Hudson House has become a neighborhood favorite to both its Highland Park and Addison (opened in 2018) communities; distinguished for its ice-cold martinis, wildly admired cheeseburger, top-grade east coast oysters and gorgeous interiors reminiscent of a New England dining institution.

From Hunter Pond, founder and CEO of Vandelay Hospitality Group—behind renowned concepts East Hampton Sandwich Co. and forthcoming Drake’s Steakhouse—the warm, sophisticated restaurant, raw bar and brunch concept is inspired by the adored neighborhood joints of the West Village in New York City.

Hudson House Lakewood will initially open from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily, with its popular weekend brunch soon to follow.

“There was no question that Lakewood would harbor our third Hudson House,” says Pond in a statement. “We can’t wait to bring the classic, energetic vibe surrounding our Highland Park and Addison spots to East Dallas.”

The 4,500 square-foot restaurant will be located at 4040 Abrams Rd.
