One of North Texas’ largest nonprofits has tapped into an influential group of Dallas-Fort Worth business executives to help govern the organization and its foundation.

The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas has added four members to its 2019-2020 Board of Directors and one to the United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas Board.

Darrell Crall, chief operating officer of the PGA of America; Scott Hudson, president of the retail business at Vistra Energy; Peter Sefzik, executive director of the Business Bank at Comerica Bank; and Steven Williams, CEO of PepsiCo Foods North America

Board members include:

  • Darrell Crall, chief operating officer of the PGA of America, directing the day-to-day operations at PGA headquarters and overseeing the PGA’s organizational growth, strategic plan, performance goal, and annual budget execution, as the organization is relocating to North Texas.
  • Scott Hudson, president of the retail business at Vistra Energy, including president of TXU Energy, a retail electricity provider, also having served as the company’s chief operating officer with responsibility for sales, marketing, product development, operations, and business technology organizations.
  • Peter Sefzik, executive director of the Business Bank at Comerica Bank, responsible for all lines of business in the Business Bank segment of Comerica, which includes General Middle Market, Small Business Banking, 14 Specialty Lines of Business, Treasury Management & Capital Markets.
  • Steven Williams, CEO of PepsiCo Foods North America, leading the $18 billion snack and convenient foods business that includes Frito-Lay North America (FLNA) and Quaker Foods North America (QFNA).

“We are thrilled to welcome these new members to our thoughtfully-engaged, forward-thinking, and insightful boards,” said Jennifer Sampson, McDermott-Templeton president and CEO of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. “Their broad experience, vast expertise and passion for our work will help ensure United Way remains vital and relevant in driving lasting change for Dallas, by putting opportunity in the hands of all North Texans.”

The board members’ strategic decision-making and guidance steer United Way’s work, such as its community impact, fundraising, and operations. Members will serve three-year terms, as they help steer United Way in creating solutions to complex social issues in the areas of Education, Financial Stability, and Health- the essential components of a thriving community, according to a news release.

Stacy Nahas

The newest United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas Board member is Stacy Nahas, the audit business unit partner in charge at KPMG Dallas.

The UWFMD Board oversees the foundation, which was established in 1999 to perpetuate and secure the future of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas–through the Unite Forever (endowment) Fund.

Nahas previously served as KPMG’s national managing partner, university relations and recruiting, working closely with KPMG senior leadership.

“We’re so fortunate to be able to add these leaders with such impressive breadth and depth of experience to drive our performance to even higher levels,” said Jason Downing, Deloitte U.S. vice-chairman and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas board chair. “Great governance demands thoughtful board composition, and these new members will enhance United Way’s tradition of excellence with fresh eyes, diverse views, and incredibly innovative skillsets.”
