Celebrate Dallas Pride With Local Artists at Maestri Gallery

The sunny, Palm Springs-inspired space's latest exhibit is all about inclusion.

Since opening its pink flamingo-topped doors last year, Dallas designer Eddie Maestri’s art gallery has been a breath of fresh air amidst the homogenous brick exteriors of Exposition Park. The mid-century-inspired building has hosted several shows for artists he loves (such as Dallas’ Mione Plant and Carolyn Joe Daniel) and—as he told us last year—“just people who are fun.”

Next Thursday, May 30, the playful space will help set the tone early for Dallas’ Pride Parade, held in its new Fair Park location just across from Exposition Park on Sunday, June 2., with the opening of its “Inclusionary Vision” exhibit. Expect works (likely colorful) from select locals, with the spotlight on two artists, Pennsylvanian Andrew Sedgwick Guth and Nashville-based Trevor Mikula. And for anyone looking for a little feel-good, art-purchasing nudge, Maestri Gallery will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the exhibit’s opening night to North Texas-based Resource Center, which operates one of the largest LGBTQ Community Centers in the nation.
