Billy Milner wears many hats — and we’re not just talking about the one in the photo above. He’s an interior designer, a shop owner (his charming Life of Riley home decor and gift shop opened last year in Deep Ellum), and, come Christmastime, the most popular man in Dallas next to Kris Kringle. Billy trims Christmas trees for a regular stable of clients, both in town and across the country. And lucky for us, he shared with our staff his best tips for decorating your tree like a pro, which we spill in our latest issue — online now and on newsstands Nov. 5. (He also styled the beautiful tree that appears on our cover!)

But you’re a hands-on learner, you say? Have no fear: Billy will offer tree-trimming classes at Life of Riley this winter for those who need an in-person demonstration. Stop by the shop or email Billy at [email protected] to check for class availability.

And if you’re just not the DIY type, Billy still has a few openings for this holiday season. Email him to inquire about his services. He’ll even come back after the season to break down the tree, if you’re so inclined.
